McLaren will celebrate their 1000th F1 Grand Prix with a special livery in Monaco.
The special milestone livery in Monaco comes as McLaren marks their 1000th Grand Prix in F1 coincidentally 60 years since their debut at the same venue in 1966, with the livery adorned with metallic papaya and 1000 emblazoned on the side of the MCL40 car complemented by anthracite.
McLaren have opted to include symbolic nods to previous milestones like their first race, victories and championship triumphs, world record pit stop and the infamous Triple Crown, which will also be reflected in Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s overalls.
F1 will also mark the occasion on Thursday 4 June with McLaren’s first car, M2B lining up alongside the MCL40 on the grid, with McLaren CEO, Zak Brown, Norris, Piastri, Team Principal – Andrea Stella and other living past McLaren winners invited alongside F1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali.
Brown believes that the timing of the 1000th race coming full circle at the home of their debut in Monaco is a full circle moment, which allows the team to reflect on its history within motor racing.
“Lining up on the grid to race McLaren’s 1000th Grand Prix in Monaco this year provides a perfect opportunity to recognise our rich history in motorsport. We’re only the second team to reach this incredible milestone, so what better moment to reflect on our past, our present and our future.

McLaren Never Quits, and this livery and the moment on Thursday is a special way to celebrate how far we’ve come. We look forward to running it out on track and recognising what we have achieved from our first race, here in Monaco back in 1966, through to now. Here’s to 1000 more.”
Since their debut in 1966, McLaren has gone on to claim 210 total victories (203 Grand Prix and 7 Sprint), 561 Grand Prix podiums, 184 poles (177 Grand Prix and 7 Sprint), alongside 13 Driver titles and 10 Constructor titles.
McLaren will continue to run the livery in Barcelona, Spain on weekend of 12-14 June due to the Barcelona GP being the second race in this double-header with Monaco.
