Burnley host Wolves at Turf Moor in their final Premier League clash of the season, as both teams look to avoid finishing rock bottom.
Victory or a draw would see Burnley avoid finishing rock bottom of the table, whilst Wolves must win in order to avoid finishing bottom.
Team News
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-0 away defeat at Arsenal, with Conor Roberts set for a substitute role after he missed much of the season with an Achilles injury.
Josh Cullen (ACL) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.
Wolves too have no fresh injury concerns after their 1-1 draw at home to Fulham, as Sam Johnstone (shoulder), Leon Chiwome and Enso Gonzalez Medina (both knee) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off
Burnley host Wolves at Turf Moor on Sunday 24 May at 4pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ app in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley have lost one of their last ten Premier League meetings against Wolves (W5, D4. L1).
- Wolves are winless in their last five Premier League visits to Burnley (D2, L3).
- Only one of Burnley’s 13 previous Premier League meetings against Wolves have ended in a 0-0 draw, which came in December 2021.
- 10 of Burnley’s 37 league goals this season were scored by Zian Flemming.
- Wolves have conceded 10 goals in their last three away matches without reply (L3).
Prediction
Despite having had nothing to play for since late April, Burnley can be pleased with their performance at Arsenal because they could of easily rolled over yet they resiliently dug in defensively to lose by a single goal, which is quite an achievement given their tough season.
Wolves meanwhile are frustrating because they have found their groove at home again in recent months but that hasn’t translated into away performances, so they’re lucky to even have a chance on the final day to avoid finishing rock bottom in all fairness.
My instinct though is that Burnley have enough quality to be a match for Wolves and should definitely be capable of a draw here, although I would like to see Zian Flemming remain in the top-flight next season because he has adapted quite well and deserve a chance with a mid-table team.
Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Wolves
Result: Burnley 1-1 Wolves
