2025-26 Premier League: Week 37 – Leeds vs Brighton

Leeds United host top-six hunting Brighton & Hove Albion in a huge Premier League clash.

Victory would lift Leeds up to 13th before Newcastle meet West Ham in the early-evening kick-off, whilst Brighton can go sixth with a win until at least Tuesday – and guarantee themselves a chance at snatching fifth on the final day.

Team News

Jayden Bogle and Facundo Buonanotte are both ruled out for Leeds after the pair suffered hamstring injuries during their 1-1 draw at Tottenham.

Ethan Ampadu is unlikely to be involved after illness prevented his involvement in training this week.

Pascal Struijk (hip) is a doubt but Gabriel Gudmundsson (hamstring), Noah Okafor (calf) and Ilia Gruev (knee) are still absent.

Brighton will be without winger, Kaoru Mitoma after he suffered a hamstring injury in their 3-0 win over Wolves, which has ruled him out of Japan’s World Cup squad.

Mats Wieffer (ankle) and Diego Gomez (knee) are both available for selection

Stefanos Tzimas (ACL) and Adam Webster (knee) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Leeds host Brighton at Elland Road on Sunday 15 May at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Leeds are yet to beat Brighton in the Premier League (D3, L4).
  • Brighton are yet to suffer an away Premier League defeat at Leeds after three previous trips to Elland Road (W1, D2).
  • Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls have kept just one clean sheet in their three previous Premier League visits to Leeds, which came in a 1-0 win in their first such trip in January 2021.
  • Leeds have kept just one clean sheet in their last five league matches (W3, D2).
  • Jack Hinshelwood has scored in each of Brighton’s last three matches (W2, L1).

Prediction

Now that safety is assured which is a remarkable achievement given manager – Daniel Farke’s poor Premier League record, it will be interesting to see how Leeds approach this because they’ve certainly found top-flight momentum in the run-in but safety can bring a more relaxed carefree approach for some.

Brighton meanwhile absolutely dominated Wolves and could of won by a larger canter if had been more clinical but with a chance to go sixth and guarantee a final-day shot at fifth, this feels like theirs to lose because they have the stronger motivation.

Leeds however know that this is their last home game of the season so I expect them to still be up for this but given their poor Premier League record against Brighton, I fancy the visitors to nick this if can be clinical and use their motivation wisely.

Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Brighton

Result: Leeds 1-0 Brighton
