Relegated Burnley play host to top-five chasing Aston Villa in a Premier League clash at Turf Moor.
Victory would put Burnley on the cusp of securing 19th position in the final table come end of the season, whilst Villa can go fourth with a win.
Team News
Axel Tuanzebe is set to return for Burnley following his recovery from a lengthy Achilles injury.
Josh Cullen (ACL), Conor Roberts (Achilles) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.
Villa have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 4-0 second-leg victory at home to Nottingham Forest in their UEFA Europa League semi-final.
Alysson (muscle), Amadou Onana and Boubacar Kamara (both knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host Villa at Turf Moor on Sunday 10 May at 2pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley are winless in their last five league meetings against Villa (D1, L4).
- Villa have lost just one of their six previous Premier League trips to Burnley (W3, D2, L1).
- Burnley have lost both of their last two home games against Villa by 3-1 results.
- Burnley have failed to score in four of their last seven matches (D1, L6).
- Villa have claimed just seven points in their last eight league matches (W2, D1, L5).
Prediction
Whilst their last few matches feel like dead rubbers as it looked like in their lacklustre 3-1 defeat at Leeds with little attacking quality until too late, Burnley are still fighting to avoid finishing bottom which could make a small positive financial difference to their plans this summer.
Villa meanwhile haven’t exactly been in form in the top flight lately but they absolutely thrashed Forest on Thursday evening with an energetic clinical display, so now must bring that performance into this match as this is a big chance to virtually seal Champions League qualification.
As nice as it would be to see Burnley bring some fight into this match, I just expect Villa to have too much for them even if there is squad rotation.
Prediction: Burnley 1-2 Aston Villa
Result: Burnley 2-2 Aston Villa
