2025-26 Premier League: Week 36 – Brighton vs Wolves

Brighton & Hove Albion look to continue their push for European qualification against relegated Wolves.

Victory would see Brighton climb to sixth if Bournemouth fail to beat Fulham at Craven Cottage, whilst Wolves can move off the foot of the table until at least Sunday afternoon with a win.

Team News

Mats Wieffer is a doubt for Brighton after he suffered a minor ankle injury in their 3-1 defeat at Newcastle.

Solly March (muscle) and James Milner (knock) are in contention but Diego Gomez (knee) won’t be risked unless he passes late fitness tests.

Stefanos Tzimas (ACL) and Adam Webster (knee) remain sidelined.

Wolves will be without Leon Chiwome for the remainder of the season, after the forward hadn’t played since early February due to a knee injury suffered against Ipswich in an Under-21s match.

Jose Sa (ankle), Sam Johnstone (shoulder), Ladislav Krejci (neck) and Enso Gonzalez Medina (knee) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Brighton host Wolves at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday 9 May at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Brighton are unbeaten in their last eight league meetings against Wolves (W5, D3).
  • Wolves have won one of their last seven league visits to Brighton (W1, D4, L2).
  • Brighton have dropped six points in their last four league meetings against Wolves (W1, D3).
  • Danny Welbeck has scored three goals in Brighton’s last two home matches (W2).
  • Wolves have scored one goal in their last four matches (D1, L3).

Prediction

Brighton should feel unlucky to have suffered defeat at Newcastle because their attacking play was strong but just lacked the luck in their final touches, yet they were defensively undone by the Magpies’ crosses and out-wide counter-attacking pace but I expect them to bounce back here.

Wolves meanwhile just seem to be going through the motions now with full focus on next season in the Championship as they were lucky to snatch a draw against ten-men Sunderland, but I do think that they will need to put together a strong smash-and-grab if want anything here.

This game though is Brighton’s to lose and I just can see this being a routine result.

Prediction: Brighton 2-0 Wolves

Result: Brighton 3-0 Wolves
