2025-26 Premier League: Week 35 – Brentford vs West Ham

Brentford meet London rivals, West Ham in a crucial showdown affecting the races for Europe and survival respectively.

Victory would lift Brentford as high as sixth if Brighton lose at Newcastle, whilst West Ham can move five points clear of the relegation zone with a win.

Team News

Brentford could welcome Jordan Henderson (knock) and Vitaly Janelt (metatarsal) back into contention, albeit only if the midfield pair pass late fitness tests.

Rico Henry (hamstring), Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo (all ACL) remain sidelined

West Ham have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-1 victory at home against Everton, with only goalkeeper – Lukasz Fabianski still sidelined after he failed to return following a lengthy back injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Brentford host West Ham at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 2 May at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Brentford have lost one of their last nine Premier League meetings against West Ham (W7, D1, L1).
  • West Ham are yet to win a league match away to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium  (D1, L3).
  • Brentford have kept clean sheets in their last two league meetings against West Ham (W2).
  • Keith Andrews’ Bees have drawn all three London derbies at home in 2026, having held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in between 0-0 draws against Tottenham and Fulham.
  • Matheus Fernandes has won more duels this season than any other West Ham player, having won 175 duels in 32 appearances.

Prediction

Having seen their run of draws come into an end in their defeat at Manchester United on Monday evening, Brentford now to reset because this is now must-win if want any chance of qualifying for Europe as two of their last three matches are difficult so they’ve to be clinical and defend well here.

West Ham though know that this is a chance to ensure that they stay above the relegation zone and keep the pressure relentlessly on Tottenham who currently sit in that last relegation spot, so I expect them to be up for this test after their late winner at home to Everton.

Both teams though played out a dramatic 2-2 draw in East London in March in the FA Cup – which the Hammers won on penalties, so they will both have additional motivation from that match but I just think that West Ham have found their groove and will snatch this.

Prediction: Brentford 1-2 West Ham
