Leeds United continue their fight for Premier League survival against top-seven chasing Brentford at Elland Road.
Victory will see Leeds stay 15th and move six points clear of the relegation zone, whilst Brentford could need a win to return to seventh if Everton beat Chelsea at teatime.
Team News
Gabriel Gudmundsson is suspended for Leeds after he was sent off in their goalless draw at Crystal Palace.
Noah Okafor could return after he missed nearly a month due to a hamstring injury.
Brentford could be without Mikkel Damsgaard as the Danish midfielder continues to play through a knee injury, but he will be handed a late fitness test.
Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey (both hamstring), Vitaly Janelt (metatarsal), Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo (all ACL) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Leeds host Brentford at Elland Road on Saturday 21 March at 8pm GMT, live on Sky One, Sky Sports’ Main Event and Premier League channels in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Leeds have lost one of their five previous Premier League meetings against Brentford (W1, D3, L1).
- Brentford have drawn each of their two previous Premier League visits to Leeds (D2), having played out a 2-2 draw in December 2021 then 0-0 in January 2023.
- Both Leeds and Brentford have scored in four of their five previous Premier League clashes, except for a 0-0 draw in January 2023 at Elland Road.
- Leeds are winless in their last five league matches (D3, L2).
- Brentford have taken four points from their three previous Saturday 8pm kick-offs this season (W1, D1, L1).
Prediction
Without any goals in their last three league matches, Leeds certainly have hit a goal drought at the worst possible time now that those immediately below them are beginning to find form and momentum, so this does feel like a must-win if want to go into the international break with a gap to the relegation zone.
Brentford meanwhile will be frustrated to have let their 2-0 lead at home to rock-bottom Wolves slip because victory would of put them right in the mix for the top four, yet they must regroup because this is an immediate chance to bounce back if can score first and kick on without any sloppy defensive play.
Both teams therefore have points to prove for different reasons at opposite ends of the table but given that Leeds have hit a rut in terms of goals drying up unlike Brentford, I just think that the Bees will edge this clash.
Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Brentford
Result: Leeds 0-0 Brentford
