Promotion-chasing Middlesbrough meet Play-Off-chasing Bristol City in a huge Sky Bet Championship clash.
Victory would see Middlesbrough stay second for another matchweek, whilst Bristol City can climb as high as ninth with a win.
Team News
Middlesbrough have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 midweek loss at home to Charlton.
Dael Fry (hamstring), Alex Bangura (muscle), Alfie Jones (ankle), Sammy Silvera (foot) and Darragh Lenihan (Achilles) remain ruled out.
Bristol City will be without George Tanner after he suffered an ankle injury in their 2-0 midweek defeat at Leicester.
Adam Murphy (ankle/Achilles), Rob Atkinson (ankle), Rob Dickie, Joe Williams (both hamstring) and Luke McNally (knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Middlesbrough host Bristol City on Saturday 14 March at 12:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Middlesbrough are winless in their last eight league meetings against Bristol City (D2, L6).
- Bristol City have lost just one of their last five visits to Middlesbrough (W3, D1, L1).
- Boro are yet to suffer consecutive home defeats under Kim Hellberg since he took charge in mid-November 2025.
- Bristol City haven’t suffered four consecutive defeats since February – March 2024.
Prediction
Having produced a wasteful display against Charlton with far too many rushed or inaccurate finishing touches, Middlesbrough need to produce a reaction here if they’re to put the pressure back on their immediate rivals who play in the mid-afternoon kick-offs.
Bristol City meanwhile are now seven points adrift of the final play-off spot coming into the weekend so this does feel like a must-win, yet they do have an injury crisis and were outclassed at Leicester but they can take heart from their form in this fixture.
I however do expect Boro to respond with a more polished display and if they can target Bristol City’s vulnerable defence, I fancy this to be a routine home win.
Prediction: Middlesbrough 2-0 Bristol City
Result: Middlesbrough 1-0 Bristol City
