Hull City meet Millwall in a huge Sky Bet Championship clash in the race for promotion.
Victory would see Hull leapfrog Millwall into fourth on goal difference behind third-placed Ipswich, whilst Alex Neil’s Lions can climb to third for at least a few hours with a win.
Team News
Lewie Coyle is a doubt for Hull after he suffered an ankle injury in their 1-0 loss at Ipswich in midweek.
Akin Famewo (calf) and Matt Crooks (suspension) are ruled out, whilst Amir Hadziahmetovic (ankle) faces a late fitness test.
Mo Belloumi (hamstring) could return if match fit, but Ryan Giles, Matty Jacob (both hamstring), Darko Gyabi (groin), Yu Hirakawa (ankle) and Elliot Matazo (knee) remain absent.
Millwall could welcome Will Smallbone back into contention after five months out with a hamstring injury.
Caleb Taylor (foot) is unlikely to be fit for selection but Lukas Jensen (Achilles), Dan Kelly (hamstring), Joe Bryan (toe), Benicio Boaitey-Baker (groin) and Massimo Luongo (knee), remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Hull host Millwall at MKM Stadium on Saturday 7 March at 12:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Hull have unbeaten in their last seven meetings against Millwall (W4, D3).
- Millwall have won one of their last six visits to Hull (W1, D1, L4).
- Hull have kept clean sheets in each of their last three home games against Millwall (W2, D1).
- Oli McBurnie has scored in two of Hull’s last three home matches.
- Millwall have dropped just five points in their last seven matches (W5, D1, L1).
Prediction
Having been outplayed at Ipswich with no shots on target, Hull now need to bounce back quickly here if want to keep their hopes of automatic promotion on track and be more clinical otherwise the play-offs looks to be their destination if can hold off the chasing pack.
Millwall meanwhile clinically dispatched Preston last weekend but don’t have a strong record away at Hull so that result is a timely confidence boost for them, as this is a chance for them to continue their form and keep the pressure up on Middlesbrough who don’t play until Sunday afternoon.
Either way, this is a game that both teams won’t want to lose so I expect a nice competitive clash but Millwall probably will have the edge if they get on the front foot and control the game, just like they did at Preston and do what Ipswich did to an injury-hit Hull in terms of dominance.
Prediction: Hull 1-2 Millwall
Result: Hull 1-3 Millwall
