Lincoln City host Bolton in a blockbuster top of Sky Bet League One showdown in the race for automatic promotion.
Victory could put Lincoln City top if Cardiff slip up elsewhere and nine points clear of third-placed Bolton, whilst the visiting Trotters will stay third with a win which would cut their deficit to the Imps down to three points.
Team News
Ivan Varfolomieiev is a doubt for Lincoln City after he was substituted with concussion during their 4-1 win at Plymouth last weekend.
Adam Jackson (hernia), James Collins (ACL), Oscar Thorn (ankle) and Josh Honohan (muscle) remain absent.
Bolton will have Jordi Osei-Tutu available after he participated in full training this week, despite having suffered a knock in their 3-2 home win against Barnsley.
Johnny Kenny could make his debut after he was left out of the squad against Barnsley following his loan move from Celtic earlier this month.
Amario Cozier-Duberry (knee) and Marcus Forss (hamstring) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Lincoln City host Bolton at LNER Stadium on Saturday 14 February at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Lincoln City have claimed just four points in their last five league meetings against Bolton (W1, D1, L3).
- Bolton have claimed seven points in their last five league visits to Lincoln City (W2, D1, L2).
- Lincoln City have kept two clean sheets in seven league matches so far in 2026 (W5, D2).
- Bolton haven’t conceded in their three away games in League One (W2, D1).
Prediction
With a six-point gap on Bolton, Lincoln City know that this is a big opportunity to put their fingernails onto the cusp of automatic promotion if they bring the same clinical quality which saw them beat Plymouth from behind last weekend.
Bolton meanwhile have found rock-solid defensive form in their last three away games in contrast to their leaky home form, although they’re unbeaten in six matches and will be eying up a win here to give themselves a huge opportunity to chase down automatic promotion.
Their manager, Steven Schumacher though will be slightly concerned at how they nearly blew a ruthless 3-0 half-time lead against Barnsley last weekend with two conceded second-half goals, but this is a chance to reset in what will be a close game.
If both teams bring the same attacking quality that we saw last weekend then I think fans are in for a treat but the Imps aren’t easy to beat at home, so a draw feels like a fair call.
Prediction: Lincoln City 1-1 Bolton
Result: Lincoln City 1-1 Bolton
