Burnley meet West Ham at Turf Moor in a Premier League relegation six-pointer showdown.
Victory would move second-bottom Burnley to within two points of third-bottom West Ham, whilst the Hammers can move to within three points of safety with a win.
Team News
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 3-0 defeat at Sunderland last Monday evening, but loanee – James Ward-Prowse is ineligible to face his parent club.
Zeki Amdouni (knee), Josh Cullen (ACL), Conor Roberts (Achilles), Mike Tresor (ankle) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.
West Ham will be without defender, Jean-Clair Todibo after he was red carded in their dramatic 3-2 loss at Chelsea last weekend.
Axel Disasi consequently could make his debut following his deadline-day loan switch from Chelsea.
Lukasz Fabianski remains sidelined with a back injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host West Ham at Turf Moor on Saturday 7 February at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley are winless in their last seven league meetings against West Ham (D3, L4).
- West Ham have claimed seven points in their last five league trips to Burnley (W2, D1, L2).
- Burnley have scored first in each of the last five meetings against West Ham in which there had been at least one goal.
- Florentino has won more duels than any other Burnley player this season in the top flight (103).
- Crysencio Summerville has scored in each of West Ham’s last three league games (W2, L1).
Prediction
With a 11-point gap from safety and five points behind West Ham, this match really does feel like do-or-die for Burnley’s survival hopes after they lacked much end product at Sunderland despite a decent attacking display, whilst their defence were clinically outclassed at various points.
West Ham meanwhile were absolutely superb on the front foot at Chelsea in the first half to build a comfortable lead, yet they threw it away by going too defensive in the second half which allowed Chelsea to tear their back line apart to create space for their comeback goals.
Now if the Hammers can perform like they did in the first half but maintain that standard across the whole game until confident that victory is assured, I can see them getting a comfortable result but Burnley can’t be underestimated at home.
Prediction: Burnley 1-2 West Ham
Result: Burnley 0-2 West Ham
