Bromley Football Club have criticised “unacceptable” behaviour of a small number of fans during their League Two victory at Gillingham.

Ben Thompson’s hat-trick and Corey Whitely’s finish saw Sky Bet League Two leaders, Bromley beat their Kent rivals, Gillingham 4-1 at Priestfield Stadium on Saturday 31 January, despite Bradley Dack’s 44th-minute consolatory goal.

The local derby however had been marred by a small minority of Bromley supporters who engaged in anti-social behaviour with seats ripped out of position and thrown around.

Bromley officials have now issued a public statement criticising those who were involved in such criminal activity and vowed to engage with Gillingham as part of the investigation.

“We are disappointed by the unacceptable actions of a small minority of supporters who attended our away fixture at Gillingham on Saturday.

“An investigation is currently underway with the police as we continue to co-operate with Gillingham FC.

“The Club wish to make it clear that such anti-social behaviour from ‘supporters’ will not be tolerated, and is not welcome at any Bromley FC fixtures, home or away.”
