2025-26 League Two: Week 30 – Gillingham vs Bromley

Gillingham host local rivals, Bromley in a massive Sky Bet League Two showdown.

Victory would lift Gillingham up to 11th in the table if Barnet and Crewe Alexandra both lose elsewhere, whilst Bromley could go as high as nine points clear with a win depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Cameron Antwi is set to make his club debut for Gillingham after he wasn’t available for their 3-0 win at Harrogate last weekend, as their subsequent trip to Cheltenham in midweek was postponed due to weather conditions.

Jonny Smith however is ruled out after he suffered a leg injury at Harrogate, whilst Glenn Morris (knock) faces a late fitness check.

Ethan Coleman faces a late fitness check on an unspecified injury, but Nelson Khumbeni is ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report despite Omar Sowunmi seemingly suffered a shoulder injury in their 2-2 draw at home to Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday evening, although manager – Andy Woodman post-match clarified that he should be ok for selection.

Loan signing, Zech Medley is in line to make his debut against his former loan club, having spent the first half of the 2020-21 season on loan at Gillingham from Arsenal.

When is Kick-Off?

Gillingham host Bromley at Priestfield Stadium on Saturday 31 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Gillingham are yet to beat Bromley in an EFL meeting (D1, L2).
  • Bromley won 3-0 in their only previous EFL visit to Gillingham in January 2025.
  • Jude Arthurs has scored in two of Bromley’s three league meetings against Gillingham.
  • Conor Masterson and Armani Little have both scored in Gillingham’s last two matches (W2).
  • Bromley have kept clean sheets in three of their last five away matches (W4, D1).

Prediction

Despite taking just three wins in their last 12 league matches – during which they also claimed seven draws and two defeats, Gillingham are still a strong team who can’t be underestimated especially after having had a week to prepare for this Kent derby after their trip to Cheltenham was called off.

Bromley meanwhile definitely felt Deji Elerewe’s absence in central defence in their last two games but Kyle Cameron has done a solid job of filling in, although they didn’t exactly seem to have their usual sparkle against Crewe who looked more energised despite having led twice.

Medley’s arrival therefore does seem to have come at an ideal time given that he got Fleetwood’s winner against the Gills in October and he will bring some freshness to the defence, whilst the Ravens should be fired up for this derby after they controversially blew a 2-0 lead at home to them in September.

Either way this is an exciting derby now that Gillingham have won their last two matches whereas Bromley have got four points against tough opposition in the last week, but I do think that the Ravens should be good for a point if they turn up with their usual sparkle.

Prediction: Gillingham 1-1 Bromley
