2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week 29 – Monday

Championship leaders, Coventry City face a tricky away test against relegation-battling Norwich at Carrow Road.

Victory would see Norwich move up to 18th with a win and four points clear of the drop, whilst league leaders – Coventry cam move six points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough with a win.

Team News

Norwich will again be without striker, Josh Sargent as he pushes for a transfer away from the club.

Shane Duffy, Lucien Mahovo (both muscle), Amankwah Forson, Jeffrey Schlupp (both hamstring), Gabe Forsyth (knee) and Mirko Topic (ACL) remain absent.

Bobby Thomas is a doubt for Coventry due to having suffered a calf injury whilst he served a three-match ban, which included their last outing as they beat Millwall 2-1 at home.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden (ankle) could return but Oliver Dovin (knee) is still sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Norwich host Coventry at Carrow Road on Monday 26 January at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Norwich are unbeaten in their last 11 league meetings against Coventry (W7, D4).
  • Coventry are winless in their last five trips to Norwich (D2, L3).
  • Norwich have won their last two home games against Coventry by 2-1 results (W2).
  • Anis Ben Slimane has scored in both of Norwich’s last two matches (W2).
  • Haji Wright has scored in Coventry’s last two games (W2).

Prediction

Norwich have found form with two defeats in their last nine league matches and have won their first three away games of 2026, which included a ruthlessly clinical display at West Brom which will give them extra belief coming into this game where they hold the head-to-head momentum.

With an eight-point gap to third-placed Ipswich, Coventry can slightly relax but I do think that they will want to go up as champions so am expecting another strong display after two gutsy wins in their last two outings just to re-open that six-point gap to Boro.

Coventry though are in a much stronger place than they’ve been for many of their recent clashes against the Canaries and this would be an ideal time to end that rut, but Norwich have found form lately so a draw feels like a fair guess unless Coventry nick this.

Prediction: Norwich 1-1 Coventry

Result: Norwich 2-1 Coventry
