Alpine have unveiled their A526 car which will compete in the 2026 Formula One season.

Amidst F1’s new wave of technical regulations, this season will mark the first campaign without Renault engines since 2000 as Alpine switches to a customer team status running Mercedes power units for the first time since 2015 when it was then named Lotus F1 Team.

Alpine have retained Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, with Colapinto having replaced Jack Doohan after the opening six rounds of last season which saw the team finish bottom of the constructors’ standings with 22 points which were all scored by Gasly alone.

Doohan has since left the team after he acted as reserve driver for the last 18 rounds of last season following his swap with Colapinto, meaning that Paul Aron and Kush Maini will share test and reserve driver duties this season.

The team will again run their now traditional pink and blue livery with Gasly excited about what lies ahead this season, having completed a filming day at Silverstone on Wednesday (21 January).

“When there is such a big change, it brings opportunities,” explained Gasly at the team’s launch event onboard MSC World Europa cruise ship in Barcelona, Spain, as he expressed belief in the team’s ability to deliver a competitive car.

“I believe in the team, I believe in the people we have and the potential we have.”

Alpine will now participate in a private five-day first pre-season test in Barcelona across 26-30 January, across which teams can only conduct three days of running in total.
