2025-26 UEFA Champions League: League Phase – Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund

Tottenham Hotspur face a tough league phase fixture against Borussia Dortmund in 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.

Currently locked on 11 points apiece in 11th and 10th positions respectively, victory would see Tottenham or Dortmund climb into the top eight until at least Wednesday evening.

When is Kick-Off?

Tottenham host Dortmund at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday 20 January at 8pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Tottenham have won all four Champions League meetings against Borussia Dortmund (W4),
  • Borussia Dortmund have lost their two previous Champions League visits to Tottenham (L2).
  • Spurs have scored three goals in each of their last two home games against Borussia Dortmund.
  • Tottenham have won all three home league phase fixtures this season without conceding (W3), in which they netted eight goals in total.
  • Borussia Dortmund have failed to keep a clean sheet away from home in the league phase this season (W1, D1, L1).

Prediction

Currently dealing with a major injury crisis amidst speculation over his future and toxicity amongst the fans, Tottenham really need a more intensely hungry attacking spirit than they produced against the Hammers because this is a step up in opposition.

Dortmund meanwhile aren’t the defensively best on the road with just three clean sheets away from home all season, yet there is no doubting their attacking quality and this is a great chance to end their winless away rut against Spurs if can start well and control the game.

Even with their reported 11 players available, Tottenham hopefully can create a battle but I really don’t see them winning this barring a miracle such is the volatility around the North London club.

Prediction: Tottenham 0-2 Borussia Dortmund

Result: Tottenham 2-0 Borussia Dortmund
