West Ham United have signed forward, Pablo Felipe from Gil Vicente for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Felipe’s arrival in East London comes after a strong start to the current season for Portugal’s Gil Vicente with 10 goals in 14 appearances, which led West Ham to swoop quickly to sign the 22-year-old Braga-born Portuguese forward.

In his first interview with whufc.com, Felipe explained that he is excited by the opportunity as he praised manager, Nuno Espirito Santo for wanting to sign him,

“I am very happy to be able to do this, I thank God for it, and I will give my all for this Club, leaving everything on the pitch, all my effort, all my dedication. The fans really like players who fight for the badge, and I can promise that I will leave every last drop of sweat on the pitch for this Club.”

“Nuno is a great manager, a manager I have always looked up to, always admired greatly, always wanted to work with one day, and he has a very ambitious project. He is a great manager, and that made me want to join West Ham, this great Club.”

The 22-year-old proceeded to add that he thinks he is a selfless player who will bring aerial ability to the team alongside goals.

“I am a very unselfish player, but I am technically very good. I enjoy playing, I like to pivot a lot, I am good in the air and I score goals. I know how to score goals, I know my way to goal and I am eager to score lots of goals for West Ham.”

Felipe singled out Mateus Fernandes and Lucas Paqueta as two stand-out players who he is excited to play alongside at West Ham.

“Mateus Fernandes is a great midfielder with unique qualities, great ball control, very good technical skills, and Paquetá doesn’t need many words, because for me he’s a phenomenon, a great player, one of the best in the world.

“I’m very happy to be able to join this group that has great players, world-class players, and I’m here to help and I’m very happy to be part of it.”

Felipe could make his debut for West Ham tomorrow away to Wolves in a relegation six-pointer at Molineux as both teams fight for Premier League survival, having been officially registered with league officials by the lunchtime deadline today (2 January).

Felipe began his career at Famalicao where he scored four goals in 38 appearances amidst loans at Pacos Ferreira and Gil Vicente in the last two seasons, where he managed six goals in 38 appearances across both loan clubs before he completed a permanent switch to the latter in June 2025.
