Max Verstappen has topped the Team Principals’ F1 Driver of Season vote for a fifth consecutive season.

Verstappen claimed eight Grand Prix wins plus two further sprint victories and overturned a 104-points deficit to finish second and just two points behind champion, Lando Norris.

The 28-year-old Dutchman consequently was voted as the best driver of the season by the ten Team Principals across the grid, which marked the fifth consecutive season that he has won their vote in which each Team Principal ranked their top ten who received points in line with the current points system.

Norris and Oscar Piastri finished second and third for McLaren ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell, who was ranked fourth after he took two wins and seven further podiums to finish fourth in the actual championship standings.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso finished a surprise fifth after a tough season saw him snatch tenth in the championship with his sixth-placed finish at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were ranked sixth and seventh ahead of Haas’ Oliver Bearman, who was the highest-ranked rookie in eighth, having enjoyed plenty of mature drives which included fourth in Mexico – where he had ran in third position at one point.

Isack Hadjar found himself ranked ninth after a solid rookie season which earned him a move to Red Bull for next season, as Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top ten to cap a solid season which saw him claim his first podium in F1 at the British Grand Prix.

Red Bull’s Laurent Mekies was the sole Team Principal who didn’t participate in the vote.
