Manchester United have signed German forward, Lea Schuller from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Schuller’s move comes with six months left on her contract at Bayern which prompted the Frauen-Bundesliga club to accept an undisclosed offer from Man Utd for the 28-year-old, who had scored 102 goals in 177 appearances for Bayern.

Speaking to www.manutd.com about her move, Schuller revealed that she is excited to embark on a new chapter and challenge for more trophies with the transfer set to be officially registered when the Transfer Window opens on 1 January in Germany.

“From the first conversations that I had with Marc and the club, the ambitions of everyone here were very clear. I still have so much that I want to achieve in my career, and I know that Manchester United is the perfect club to join.

“I feel that the team’s style of football will really suit my game, I hope my qualities and experience can help us to achieve our aims both in England and in the Champions League.”

Utd’s Director of Women’s Football, Matt Johnson added: “Lea’s goalscoring record is phenomenal, her style of play will give our attack an exciting new dimension. We are delighted to add a player of her pedigree to the group.

“Lea’s winning mentality and experience will really help our young and ambitious team as we continue to grow together and compete across domestic and European competitions.”

During her time at Bayern, Schuller helped the German giants achieve four Frauen-Bundesliga titles plus last season’s DFB-Pokal and two DFB Frauen Supercup titles.

Schuller represents Germany and has scored 54 goals in 82 appearances since her senior debut in 2017.
