DAMS have retained Italian racing driver, Nicola Lacorte for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season.
Lacorte made his debut this season and only managed a season-best finish of 15th at Emilia Romagna Sprint and British Feature Race, en-route to 33rd in the overall drivers’ standings, during which he missed the Austrian round due to suspension after he accumulated 12 points on his license.
DAMS nevertheless have decided to retain the 18-year-old as Team Owner, Charles Pic explained that the team has placed a “long-term” investment in young drivers like Lacorte who he believes can have a stronger second season.
“Nicola’s continuation reflects our ambition to invest long-term in young driver development. His analytical abilities and constant dedication throughout the 2025 season, even in difficult circumstances, demonstrated that he possesses the qualities required to progress within a highly professional environment.”
Lacorte added: “It’s an honour to continue with DAMS Lucas Oil. The 2025 season has taught me a great deal, about discipline, consistency and managing unpredictable race situations.
“My goal for 2026 is clear: build on this experience, improve at every race and target strong results.”
Lacorte will partner Thai rookie, Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi and an yet unannounced driver who will complete the grid.
