Victory could potentially put Inter Milan top if Bayern Munich slip up elsewhere and they win by four goals or more, whilst Liverpool can climb into the top eight with a win.

Denzel Dumfries could return for Inter Milan following his recovery from an ankle injury.

Matteo Darmian (calf), Tomas Palacios (hamstring) and Raffaele Di Gennaro (wrist) remain ruled out.

Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns to report ahead of this match following their 3-3 draw at Leeds in the Premier League.

Mohammed Salah however won’t be part of the travelling squad for personal reasons, following an interview criticising manager, Arne Slot.

Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) remain absent.

Prediction

Unbeaten since their late defeat at Atletico Madrid a fortnight ago, Inter Milan are coming into this game as favourites given that they have scored 11 goals and conceded once in their last three matches, and I definitely expect them to come into this game full of confidence targeting Liverpool’s weak defence.

Liverpool though are clearly improving but they were a touch lucky that two of their goals at Leeds came from errors by the hosts in the build-up play, as their defensive play at times looked messy which showed in some poor marking and fouls so a more cohesive performance is needed here.

I however on current form just can’t see Liverpool’s defence living with Inter Milan for 90 minutes, but they should at least be able to nick a goal.
