Prediction
Despite their domestic slump since the turn of November, two of Atalanta’s three wins in that period have come in this competition where they’ve been in better form, which is a big positive but they will need to bring that specific momentum into this tie rather than their overall form if want a win here.
Chelsea meanwhile are winless in three games since they beat Barcelona in their last Champions League outing, and certainly lacked composure in their end product in the goalless draw at Bournemouth so I hope that they can just polish up their final touches.
Maresca’s Blues otherwise have the defensive solidness and attacking intensity to beat Atalanta and if they do make those tweaks, I can see them winning but Atalanta on current Champions League form might just snatch a point given the Blues’ poor away form in this phase.
