Leeds United face Chelsea in a huge bottom vs top of Premier League encounter at Elland Road.
Victory could lift Leeds out of the relegation zone, whilst Chelsea will stay third with a win.
Team News
Anton Stach is set to return for Leeds after he missed their 3-2 loss at Manchester City due to concussion protocols.
Sebastian Bornauw (knee) could also return but Dan James is ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Sean Longstaff (calf) missed that game and is ruled out until after Christmas.
Chelsea will be without midfielder, Moises Caicedo as he begins a domestic three-match ban following his red card in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal.
Romeo Lavia (quad), Levi Colwill (ACL), Dario Essugo (thigh) and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension) are still sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Leeds host Chelsea at Elland Road on Wednesday 3 December at 8:15pm GMT, live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Leeds have won just one of their last nine Premier League meetings against Chelsea (W1, D2, L6).
- Chelsea have won just one of their last seven Premier League visits to Leeds (W1, D3, L3).
- Leeds’ last two home meetings against Chelsea ended in a 3-0 win for both teams apiece.
- Lukas Nmecha has scored in Leeds’ last three matches (L3).
- Chelsea have kept clean sheets in three of their last four league matches (W3, D1).
Prediction
This is a tough week for Leeds because after this game they have Liverpool at home on Saturday, but are coming into this particular match off the back of a late defeat at Man City after they scrapped their way back to 2-2 with strong second-half intensity after having conceded two sloppy first-half goals.
Chelsea meanwhile were always going to have scrap hard against Arsenal and took a clinical lead yet switched off defensively for the Gunners’ equaliser, but this is a much easier game if they can find their sharp attacking flair of recent weeks again quickly and target Leeds’ weak defence.
As much as I expect Leeds to bring a fighting spirit here, I ultimately just don’t see Chelsea losing this on current form.
Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Chelsea
Result: Leeds 3-1 Chelsea
