Relegation-battling West Ham face a tricky test against struggling Liverpool in a massive Premier League clash.
Victory could lift West Ham up to 16th if Nottingham Forest fail to beat Brighton, whilst Liverpool can go sixth with a win if results elsewhere go in their favour.
Team News
Lucas Paqueta is available for West Ham after he was suspended for their 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.
Lukasz Fabianski (back), Konstantinos Mavropanos (hamstring) and Crysencio Summerville (knock) face late fitness checks.
Oliver Scarles (shoulder) remains ruled out.
Liverpool could welcome Florian Wirtz back after he missed their last two matches due to a muscle injury.
Alisson (illness) and Hugo Ekitike (back) are doubts but expected to pass late fitness checks.
Conor Bradley (muscle), Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
West Ham host Liverpool at London Stadium on Sunday 30 November at 2pm GMT, live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.
Stat Attack
- West Ham have failed to win any of their last seven league meetings against Liverpool (D1, L6).
- Liverpool have lost just one of their last nine visits to West Ham (W6, D2, L1).
- Ex Red, Luis Diaz scored in both of Liverpool’s league meetings against West Ham last season (W2).
- Callum Wilson has scored three goals in West Ham’s last two matches (W1, D1).
- Liverpool have lost their last four away matches in the top flight (L4), of which three of those four games were at Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Brentford respectively.
Prediction
With consecutive wins just before the international break, West Ham certainly seemed to have found their groove under Nuno Espirito Santo but their 2-2 draw at Bournemouth from 2-0 up highlighted their continued defensive fragility, although their attack is certainly on the mend which is a positive.
Having conceded seven goals and scored one goal in the last week against Nottingham Forest and PSV, Liverpool really need to buck up their defensive ideas because they are just spiralling with just three wins in their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Although Liverpool do have the quality and head-to-head form in their favour, I don’t see them getting a win because this feels like too big an ask for them to turn around their performances of the last week, especially now West Ham have the better form and confidence.
Prediction; West Ham 2-1 Liverpool
Result: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool
