Liverpool face PSV Eindhoven in a league phase fixture in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.
Victory will keep Liverpool in the top eight in the table, whilst PSV can move into the seeded side of the knockout play-off spots with a win.
Team News
Florian Wirtz could return for Liverpool after he missed their embarrassing 3-0 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest, due to a muscle injury.
Conor Bradley (muscle), Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) remain absent.
PSV have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 Eredivisie win away to NAC.
Ruben van Bommel and Alassane Plea both remain absent with knee injuries.
When is Kick-Off?
Liverpool host PSV at Anfield on Wednesday 26 November at 8pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Liverpool have avoided defeat in six of their seven previous Champions League meetings against PSV (W5, D1, L1).
- PSV have lost all three previous visits to Liverpool at Anfield (L3).
- Liverpool have won two of their last three meetings against PSV by 3-1 results, which came in October and December 2008 in that season’s group stage.
- Two of Liverpool’s nine goals in the league phase this season were scored by Virgil van Dijk.
- PSV are yet to keep a clean sheet in this season’s league phase.
Prediction
After their awful loss to Forest where their end product was rushed amidst amateurish defensive play for all three conceded goals, Liverpool really need to step up their performance if want to stay on course to bypass the knockout play-offs.
Eight defeats in their last 11 matches in all competitions however is unacceptable for a team of Liverpool’s quality so this does feel like a must-win, especially given their home form in this specific fixture.
PSV however have lost just one of their last 12 matches across all competitions but with just one clean sheet in this run, their defence is clearly there to be beaten if Liverpool’s attack can show more composure in their finishing touches.
My instinct however is that Liverpool will draw this game because they need a huge improvement to win, but I don’t see that happening against an in-form PSV.
Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 PSV
Result: Liverpool 1-4 PSV
