2025-26 League Two: Week 17 – Bromley vs Salford

Bromley entertain Salford City in a blockbuster Sky Bet League Two showdown at Copperjax Stadium.

If Walsall lose in their lunchtime kick-off at Harrogate, victory could put Bromley top if Swindon lose at home to Grimsby, plus MK Dons and Notts County both fail to win elsewhere.

Salford can climb as high as third with a win depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-1 victory at home to Barrow last weekend.

Ben Thompson (ankle) and Carl Jenkinson (hip) remain absent.

Salford have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-0 loss at MK Dons.

When is Kick-Off?

Bromley host Salford at Copperjax Stadium on Saturday 22 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bromley are yet to defeat Salford in two previous EFL meetings (D1, L1).
  • Salford won 3-2 on their only previous visit to Bromley in March 2025.
  • Bromley’s Michael Cheek and Salford’s Cole Stockton scored in both meetings last season, in which Cheek scored twice whilst Stockton managed three goals.
  • Omar Sowunmi has scored in two of his last three league appearances for Bromley.
  • Salford have won just one of their last four away matches in League Two (W1, L3).

Prediction

In his match preview, Bromley manager – Andy Woodman described this match as “a six-pointer” and he is right to because if they can continue their recent league form and win here, they deservedly will be in the promotion mix although finishing chances with composure is still a sticky point for the team.

Salford meanwhile were just wasteful in their loss at MK Dons despite having more possession and chances so I expect them to try and produce a reaction, but they might need to mix up their attacking play otherwise they could find Bromley ready to sit deep and try a smash-and-grab approach.

Bromley though are flexible tactically because they dominated Barrow last weekend, yet opted for the deep defensive and smash-and-grab approach in their win at Colchester a fortnight ago, so it could come down to whose tactics work best on the day.

Both meetings last season however were thrillers but I think this will be much closer and Bromley could nick this with home advantage, should they opt to deploy the tactics which served them well at Colchester.

Prediction: Bromley 2-1 Salford

Result: Bromley 2-0 Salford
