Preston North End host Blackburn Rovers in a Lancashire derby affecting both ends of the Sky Bet Championship table.
Victory will lift Preston up to second until at least Saturday afternoon, whilst Blackburn can move up to 16th with a win.
Team News
Will Keane (muscle), Daniel Jebbison and Pol Valentin (both hamstring) are set to be available for Preston.
Robbie Brady (calf), Lewis Gibson (thigh), Ali McCann (arm), Brad Potts (muscle) and Andrija Vukcevic (hamstring) remain absent.
Blackburn will be without defender, Hayden Carter due to a calf injury.
Sondre Tronstad is back from suspension but Todd Cantwell, Balazs Toth (both knee), Augustus Kargbo (hamstring) and Scott Wharton (Achilles) remain absent.
Taylor Gardner-Hickman is suspended for this match after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in a 2-1 home loss to Derby.
When is Kick-Off?
Preston host Blackburn on Friday 21 November at Deepdale in a 8pm GMT kick-off, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Football in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Preston have lost one of their last six league meetings against Blackburn (W2, D3, L1).
- Blackburn are unbeaten in their last five league visits to Preston (W2, D3).
- Preston have kept just one clean sheet in their last ten home matches against Blackburn.
- Preston haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last three home matches (W2, L1).
- Blackburn have scored three goals in their last two away matches without conceding (W2).
Prediction
Unbeaten in their four matches after a resilient draw at Millwall, Preston will be motivated by a chance to go second with a win here but they will need to target Blackburn’s vulnerable defence if want to beat their Lancashire rivals at home for the first time since October 2019.
Blackburn meanwhile have fared better on the road points wise this season which will offer them some confidence after a sloppy first-half performance cost them against Derby, meaning that they will hope to build on their dominant second-half performance of that game.
I however do feel that Preston are in solid form at the moment and with Jebbison and Keane available up front, they should have the firepower to edge this game.
Prediction: Preston 2-1 Blackburn
Result: Preston 1-2 Blackburn
