Alex Scott has received his maiden senior call-up for England’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania.
Scott’s call-up comes after a solid start to the season with Bournemouth and marks his first senior call-up, following his involvement in this summer’s UEFA Euro Under-21s success.
Jude Bellingham is also back in the squad in two midfield changes from October’s call-ups as Morgan Gibbs-White and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are snubbed, with Bellingham returning after a period on the sidelines due to injury.
Reece James withdrew from last month’s squad due to injury but is back in the fold as Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly drops out, whilst James’ replacement last month – Nico O’Reilly has retained his spot in the squad.
Ollie Watkins missed England’s win in Latvia as a precaution after he suffered a knock with the goalpost in their friendly victory over Wales, but has been dropped from this month’s squad in favour of the in-form Phil Foden who had been absent for the last three international windows.
Danny Welbeck however misses out after calls from pundits and fans alike after his impressive start to the season for Brighton, in which he netted six goals in 10 league matches.
