2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week 14 – Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday face Norwich City in a massive showdown at the foot of the 2025-26 Sky Bet Championship table.

Victory would see Sheffield Wednesday move to within ten points of the second-bottom Canaries, whilst Norwich can move up to third-bottom with a win.

Team News

Sheffield Wednesday have no fresh injury concerns to report following their goalless draw at West Brom.

Pierce Charles (shoulder), George Brown (foot), Guilherme Siqueira (Achilles), Di’Shon Bernard (knee), Nathaniel Chalobah (hamstring), Ernie Weaver (foot) and Olaf Kobacki (groin) remain absent.

Norwich will be without Liam Gibbs after he missed their home defeat to Hull due to a hamstring injury.

Mathias Kvistgaarden and Amankwah Forson (both fitness) could be available but Jack Stacey (concussion), Lucien Mahovo (quad), Elliot Myles (fitness),

When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Wednesday host Norwich at Hillsborough on Wednesday 5 November at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports + in the UK.

Prediction

Having claimed a solid clean sheet at West Brom on Saturday through some resilient defensive work, Sheffield Wednesday now need to bring more of the same quality and add some end product as a win here could give them a small but positive hope of pulling off an escape.

Norwich meanwhile just seem to be in utter defensive freefall with just two points and no clean sheets in their last nine games, although they did well to keep Hull quiet in the first half at home before their weak confidence was again exposed but this is a chance to get a win to build some renewed belief.

I however do expect this to be a tough scrap as Sheffield Wednesday do seem to have found some belief now that the off-pitch fiasco has settled, and if they find a final touch then I can see them nicking this in what is really a must-win match for both teams.

Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Norwich

Result: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Norwich
