Gateshead Draw Walsall in Second Round of 2025-26 FA Cup

Gateshead will host Walsall in the stand-out tie of the second round draw in 2025-26 FA Cup.

Gateshead saw off last season’s League Two Play-Off winners, AFC Wimbledon in the first round, and will now host current League Two leaders, Walsall at home for a place in the third round.

Shrewsbury’s reward for a ruthless 3-1 win at South Shields is a trip to National League’s Sutton United.

Brackley saw off Notts County on penalties in the first round and will again be at home as they host League One’s Burton Albion.

Non League Football will be guaranteed at least two representatives in the third round after Slough Town were handed a home tie against fellow sixth-tier opposition – Macclesfield, whilst National League South’s Chelmsford City and Weston-super Mare will face off.

Boreham Wood will look to claim another EFL scalp after they were drawn at home to Newport County, having eliminated the Exiles’ fellow League Two strugglers, Crawley in the first round.

Bristol Rovers’ reward for a controversial win over fellow League Two opposition – Bromley, is a trip to League One’s Port Vale after the Valiants thrashed Maldon & Tiptree 5-1 from behind at home.
