Crystal Palace meet Brentford in a massive London derby in the race for a top-six spot in the Premier League.
Victory could put Palace as high as sixth if Manchester United lose elsewhere, whilst Brentford likewise can climb as high as sixth with a win.
Team News
Eddie Nketiah is unavailable for Palace after he reaggravated his recent hamstring injury during their 3-0 Fourth Round victory at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
Chris Richards (calf) could return but Caleb Kporha (back), Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure (both knee) remain absent.
Brentford could be without Yehor Yarmoliuk after the Ukrainian missed their 5-0 midweek victory at Grimsby in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Aaron Hickey (knock) could return but Josh Dasilva (knee) and Antoni Milambo (ACL) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Palace host Brentford at Selhurst Park on Saturday 1 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Palace have won one of their eight previous Premier League meetings against Brentford (W1, D5, L2).
- Brentford have lost one of their four previous Premier League visits to Palace (W1, D2, L1).
- Ex Brentford forward, Bryan Mbeumo scored in both of their 2-1 wins over Palace last season.
- Palace have kept just one clean sheet at home in the Premier League this season (W1, D3), which came in a goalless draw against Sunderland in September.
- Three of Brentford’s five away league goals this season were scored by Igor Thiago.
Prediction
Having found themselves in a winless rut through October after their Conference League win against Dynamo Kiev, Palace rediscovered their spark with a dominant win over Liverpool which will give them fresh confidence coming into this London derby.
Brentford also enjoyed a dominant display as they comfortably dispatched Grimsby in a confident performance which built on the positivity of their recent league wins over Liverpool and West Ham, so I am expecting the Bees to pose serious issues now that they’ve found their stride under Keith Andrews.
I however do think that this will be a very close game between two confident teams who clearly can deliver goals so a draw might be a fair call.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Brentford
Result: Crystal Palace 2-0 Brentford
