2025-26 Carabao Cup: Fourth Round – Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool meet Crystal Palace in a mouth-watering all-Premier League tie in the fourth round of 2025-26 Carabao Cup.

Victory would see Liverpool avoid a third fourth-round exit in six seasons, whilst Palace seek consecutive Quarter-Final appearances in this competition for the first time since 1991-92 & 92-93 seasons.

Team News

Curtis Jones is unlikely to be available for Liverpool after he suffered a groin injury in their 3-2 Premier League defeat at Brentford.

Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) and Alexander Isak (groin) are doubts but Alisson, Jeremie Frimpong (both hamstring) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) are still sidelined.

With Giorgi Mamardashvili acting as the first-choice goalkeeper in Alisson’s absence, Freddie Woodman could make his club debut if Arne Slot opts to rotate his goalkeepers as is traditional in this competition.

Crystal Palace will be without Chris Richards due a calf injury suffered after their 1-0 Premier League defeat at Arsenal.

Caleb Kporha (back), Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure (both knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Liverpool host Crystal Palace at Anfield on Wednesday 29 October at 7:45pm BST, live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK.

Prediction

With just one win in their last six matches in all competitions, Liverpool ideally would of preferred easier opposition but they have a chance to immediately atone for Saturday’s sloppy end product at Brentford, whilst their defence was just lacklustre with numerous mistakes.

Palace meanwhile gave Arsenal a strong battle but just lacked the accurate final touch to get at least a draw and instead suffered a second straight 1-0 loss in all competitions, even though they’re producing decent attacking opportunities so it feels like they’re just in one of those typical bad luck ruts at present.

Oliver Glasner’s Palace also are now winless in their last four games which makes me feel that this will be scrappy given the poor form of both teams, but having beaten Liverpool in the Community Shield and just missing the last touches I think the Eagles can nick this.

Prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace

Result: Liverpool 0-3 Crystal Palace
