Brentford face a tricky test against Liverpool in a big Premier League clash.
Victory could lift Brentford up to 10th in the table, whilst Liverpool can climb to second with a win.
Team News
Aaron Hickey could return for Brentford after he missed their 2-0 win at West Ham with a knock suffered on international duty for Scotland.
Paris Maghoma (hamstring) could return but Antoni Milambo (ACL) remains absent.
Liverpool will be without defender, Jeremie Frimpong after he suffered a hamstring injury during their 5-1 comeback Champions League victory at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Alexander Isak (groin) is a doubt after he was substituted at half-time in that game.
Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) could return but Alisson (hamstring) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) are still sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford host Liverpool at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 25 October at 8pm BST, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Brentford lost their last five meetings against Liverpool (L5).
- Liverpool have lost one of four previous Premier League trips to Brentford (W2, D1, L1)
- Ex Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez scored three goals in the Reds’ last two visits to Brentford (W2).
- Brentford’s last five league goals have been scored by Igor Thiago (3) and Mathias Jensen (2), with Jensen’s two goals having been scored in injury time.
- Liverpool have lost each of their last three league matches by 2-1 results (L3).
Prediction
Although their victory at West Ham was very one-sided and could of arguably been larger on another day, Brentford now fact a difficult test because they will need to play more defensively but still take the fight to Liverpool with clinical final touches if want any points.
Liverpool meanwhile ended their four-match losing streak across all competitions in a ruthless display at Eintracht Frankfurt after an early conceded goal, although it remains to see if their switch to a 4-4-2 formation remains or if they return to their usual formation here.
Either way this won’t be an easy task for Brentford but if Liverpool can use that midweek result as a platform to kick on, I can see them taking the win but neither side are defensively solid.
Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Liverpool
Result: Brentford 3-2 Liverpool
