Mexico’s Noel Leon has graduated to F2 with Campos for the 2026 season.
Leon has spent the last two seasons in F3 where he finished 10th in his rookie season at Van Amersfoort Racing in 2024 with four podiums (pairs of second and third-placed finishes), before he moved to PREMA for the recent season.
The latter move proved difficult as the 20-year-old only finished 17th in the drivers’ standings with a pair of season-best third-placed finishes in the feature races at Silverstone and Monza.
Campos nevertheless decided to sign Leon for their 2026 F2 line-up where he will partner 2025 F3 vice-champion, Nikola Tsolov, in a move which the Mexican described as “an honour” for him to step up to F2.
“I am very grateful for the trust of the team and for the support of my sponsors, whose commitment has made this dream possible. Campos Racing is a team with a great history and experience, and I am fully committed to learning from them and giving my best in this new stage.”
Team Principal, Adrian Campos added that he is “proud” to welcome Leon and pointed to Leon’s NACAM, US F4 and EuroFormula titles as evidence of his potential despite his F3 struggles.
“We are proud to be able to have a driver of Noel’s worth in our FIA Formula 2 team for 2025. The titles he has won in lower categories endorse him and I am convinced that he is a driver who has a lot to say in FIA Formula 2, even as a rookie.
“From Campos Racing we are going to provide him with all the tools to facilitate his adaptation to the category as quickly and effectively as possible.”
