Burnley host Leeds in a Premier League clash between two of the three promoted clubs.
Victory could lift Burnley out of the relegation zone if Forest fail to win at home to Chelsea in the lunchtime kick-off, whilst Leeds can go tenth with a win if Brighton draw against Newcastle in their clash.
Team News
Burnley could have Jaidon Anthony (quad) and Lyle Foster (leg) available subject to fitness checks.
Jordan Beyer (hamstring), Conor Roberts (knee) and Zeki Amdouni (ACL) remain absent.
Leeds could be without forward, Noah Okafor due to an adductor injury.
Lucas Perri (hamstring) and Dan James (ankle) could return to the squad, but Harry Gray (hip) and Wilfried Gnonto (calf) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday 18 October at 3pm BST, albeit untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley are yet to beat Leeds in the Premier League (D1, L3).
- Leeds are yet to lose at Burnley in the Premier League (W1, D1), having won 4-0 in May 2021 then drew 1-1 in August 2021.
- Two of Burnley’s three league goals at home this season have been scored by Jaidon Anthony.
- No Leeds player has produced more shots on target this season than Dominic Calvert-Lewin (7).
Prediction
Defending is Burnley’s biggest issue because they otherwise have the attack to mount a solid bid for survival if can tighten up at the back and deliver more goals up front, which was evident in their wasteful finishing in a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa a fortnight ago.
Leeds meanwhile are back amongst the goals after just one goal in their first four league games but their task now is to start finding clinical consistency in their end product, which is going to be key to their survival bid.
Burnley however have scored their four points at home so far so I am expecting a tough battle especially if Leeds are sloppy in their final touches, so a draw might be a fair call.
Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Leeds
Result: Burnley 2-0 Leeds
