Guide to the first round draw of 2025-26 FA Cup as the competition properly gets underway. 

Over the last few months, numerous Non League have done battle to secure their places in the hat for the First Round Proper, which could see them face a glamourous home tie against EFL opposition as League One and League Two clubs enter the competition.

Now, here is a guide to everything that you must know about the First Round draw in 2025-26 FA Cup.

 

When is the First Round Draw?

The First Round draw will be held at 6:40pm BST on Monday 13 October live on TNT Sports 1, Discovery+ and TNT Sports YouTube channel in the UK, as part of build-up to live coverage of Worthing’s Fourth Qualifying Round tie against against Forest Green Rovers.

How Many Teams will be in the Draw?

80 clubs will be involved in the draw as 48 clubs from League One and League Two join the competition at this stage, alongside the 25 definite qualifiers from the Fourth Qualifying Round – with six further Fourth Round Qualifiers having gone to replays.

Worthing’s Fourth Qualifying Round tie against Forest Green Rovers will be broadcast live after the draw has taken place, hence why both teams will share ball number 63 in the draw.

When is the First Round Taking Place?

The First Round will take place across 31 October – 3 November on BBC and TNT Sports in the UK, with the winning teams awarded a place in the Second Round.

There will be no replays from this round onwards following a rule change in order to reduce fixture congestion introduced last season.
