2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Scotland vs Belarus

Scotland look to close in on a top-two finish in UEFA Group against Belarus in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

Victory will move Scotland top of Group C for at least a few hours, and they will wrap up a top-two finish if Denmark beat Greece in the primetime kick-off.

Team News

Scotland have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 3-1 comeback win over Greece on Thursday evening, although manager – Steve Clarke could rotate his squad with Billy Gilmour and Lyndon Dykes amongst those pushing for a start.

Belarus have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 6-0 loss to Denmark on Thursday evening.

When is Kick-Off?

Scotland host Belarus on Sunday 12 October at Hampden Park, Glasgow, in a 7:45pm BST kick-off, live on BBC1 Scotland and BBC2 in rest of UK.

Prediction

Greece were never going to be easy opposition for Scotland yet the Tartan Army rode their luck and emerged the more clinical come full time, which will give them confidence to go and put the pressure on the Greeks by getting another result here.

Belarus though were absolutely humiliated by Denmark who tore their defence to shreds in the first half so their priority will be shoring up their defensive lines and rebuilding confidence, which won’t be easy if Scotland come out with better intensity and quality than saw in the first half against Greece.

In fact, I am expecting this to be an one-sided game and it will be a question of how many can Scotland put past Belarus.

Prediction: Scotland 3-0 Belarus

Result: Scotland 2-1 Belarus
