Mexican driver, Ernesto Rivera has joined Campos for the 2026 F3 season.
Rivera is currently competing in Eurocup-3 with Campos where he lies third in the drivers’ standings with three wins and four further podium finishes, and is part of Red Bull’s Junior Team which includes Nikola Tsolov who finished runner-up with Campos this season.
The 16-year-old Mexican is “very excited” to graduate into F3 next season which he believes is a huge milestone in his career, as he thanked Campos and Red Bull for giving him the opportunity to make the move forward.
“It is a very important step in my career and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the trust and support I have received from both parties.
“This year we have worked very well as a team and built a solid foundation, so I am looking forward to continuing my progression and fighting for good results next year.
“I will put all my effort, on and off the court, to make the most of this great opportunity.”
Campos’ Team Principal, Adrian Campos added that the team “are very happy” to retain Rivera as he moves up to F3, as he spoke of their success together, having previously ran the Mexican in 2024 Formula Winter Series.
“From the first season together, he showed us an enormous capacity for learning and improvement, which has already been evident at European level in 2025. Ernesto is very young, but he stands out for his maturity, solidity and career management.
“He has a great challenge ahead of him in a championship of FIA Formula 3 competitiveness, but with the joint work of everyone I am sure that his rookie season will be at least as successful as the previous ones.”
Rivera began his single-seater career in 2024 with Campos in the Formula Winter Series which yielded one podium finish, before he drove for them in Spanish F4 where he finished fifth overall with one win and a further podium finish.
He also participated in the Zandvoort round in GB3 with Hitech GP in 2024.
This season saw Rivera participate in Formula Regional Middle East Championship where he finished ninth with a single second-placed podium finish, before he participated in two races of the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship prior to the main season.
