AIX Racing have retained British driver, Cian Shields for 2026 F2 season.

Shields lies 22nd in the drivers’ standings in his first full season in F2 with a season-best finish of 11th in Emilia Romagna Feature Race, having made his debut in the final two rounds in 2024.

“I’m happy to continue with AIX Racing for another season in FIA Formula 2,” explained the 20-year-old Brit who reflected on a tricky full rookie season. “This year had its challenges, but I’ve taken a lot of lessons from it and I feel ready to come back stronger.

“With the experience we’ve built together, I’m confident we can take a big step forward and fight for the results we want.”

AIX’s Team Principal, Morne Reinecke added that the team are “excited” to retain Shields and expressed confidence in his potential in an aim at armchair critics of his results.

“The 2025 season has been challenging for him and the team, but we strongly believe in his talent and determination. With the team’s full backing and support, we are confident that we can create the right environment for Cian to take the next step forward; the step that both he and the team are striving for.”
