2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: England vs Andorra

England resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign against Andorra in UEFA Group K. 

Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions will stay top regardless of the result but victory could put them seven points clear at the summit if Latvia hold Serbia.

 

Team News

England will be without midfielder, Adam Wharton after he withdrew from the squad due to a groin injury, which saw Ruben Loftus-Cheek called up as his replacement.

Jarell Quansah meanwhile is another late addition to bolster Tuchel’s defensive options after John Stones dropped out with a muscle injury on the eve of the match.

Andorra have a full squad available for selection.

England host Andorra at Villa Park, Birmingham, on Saturday 6 September at 5pm BST, live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.

• England have won all five previous World Cup Qualifiers against Andorra (W5).
• Andorra lost their two previous away qualifiers against England by an aggregate score of 10-0 (L2).
• England are yet to concede against Andorra in all competitions (W7), during which they scored 26 goals.
• Harry Kane has scored in all three of England’s qualifiers under Tuchel (W3).
• Andorra are yet to score a single goal in this Qualifying group (L4), during which they’ve conceded eight goals without reply in four matches.

 

Prediction

Having seen their honeymoon start under Tuchel comes to a pitiful halt in their friendly loss to Senegal in June, this is the ideal game for England to realistically reset because their defence was nothing but sloppy whilst their attack was nearly as bad aside from a solid opening half hour.

Andorra meanwhile did well to hold England for much of their home game in June (albeit in Spain on neutral territory) but they will need to be even better given their awful away form in this fixture, so compact disciplined defending with a clinical attack is a must.

I however do expect England to be back on form here given that the majority of the squad have had a rest after that Senegal fiasco, and if that is the case then this should be a routine victory.
