Bromley meet Wycombe Wanderers in the second round of 2025-26 Carabao Cup.
Bromley are seeking to reach the third round of this competition for the first time in their history, having only made their debut last season.
Wycombe meanwhile are looking to reach the third round for the fifth time in their history.
Team News
Bromley manager, Andy Woodman could rotate his squad, with Sam Long expected to return in goal after his first-round exploits in their win over Ipswich on penalties.
Carl Jenkinson remains sidelined with a hip injury.
Wycombe could welcome Bradley Fink into the matchday squad for the first time this season, after a thigh injury kept him sidelined following his move from Switzerland’s Basel although he failed to recover in time for their 2-2 League One draw against Reading last weekend.
Josh Scowen (ACL) and Garath McCleary (unspecified) are still absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Bromley host Wycombe at Copperjax Stadium on Tuesday 26 August at 7:45pm BST, live on Sky Sports + Red Button in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Bromley’s first Carabao Cup meeting against Wycombe
- Wycombe are making their first competitive visit to Bromley this century, but have won four of their last five visits in all competitions (W4, L1) back in the first half of the 1980s when both teams were in non-league football.
- Bromley are yet to keep a clean sheet in this competition (W1, L1), although they needed penalties to beat Ipswich in the first round this season after a 1-1 draw.
- Wycombe have never achieved third round appearances in consecutive seasons in this competition.
Prediction
Still unbeaten despite keeping no clean sheets in their last four matches, Bromley are still relatively high on confidence especially after they came from behind twice to draw 2-2 at Notts County but their vulnerable defence is still their weak point which needs to be more solid if want another scalp here.
Wycombe meanwhile seem to still have a hangover from last season which needs shaking off soon if they’re to challenge for promotion to the Championship, but they first need to knuckle down and try to cut out their passive play otherwise Bromley will surely punish them such is the contrast in form.
Nevertheless the home crowd will surely be out in strong force such is the opportunity for a cup run and if Wycombe continue their recent rut, I can see Andy Woodman’s Bromley springing a cupset.
Prediction: Bromley 2-1 Wycombe
Result: Bromley 1-1 Wycombe (Wycombe win 5-4 on penalties)
