Goals from Lewis Baker and Sorba Thomas amidst a red card for Divin Mubama saw Stoke stay top with a 2-1 victory at Southampton, despite Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ consolatory header for the Saints.

First-half goals from Finn Azaz and Tommy Conway saw Middlesbrough stay second with a 2-1 win over ten-men Norwich, as the Canaries’ Josh Sargent netted a 82nd-minute consolatory goal after Jacob Wright was sent off for a foul on Aidan Morris.

Braces from Haji Wright, Jack Rudoni and Victor Trop plus a goal from Brandon Thomas-Asante saw Coventry surge up to third with a 7-1 victory at home to QPR, despite Richard Kone’s first goal for the Hoops in injury-time to deny Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues a clean sheet.

Mikey Johnston’s strike fired West Brom to fourth with a 1-1 draw at home to Portsmouth after Colby Bishop equalised for the visitors.

Paik Seung-Ho’s 40th-minute winner saw Birmingham move up to fifth with a 1-0 win over Oxford United, which dropped the Us to second-bottom.

Milutin Osmajic’s 11th-minute penalty proved enough for Preston to snatch a 1-0 home win over Ipswich to round out the top six.

Down in the relegation zone, Sheffield United slipped to rock bottom after a 1-0 home defeat to Millwall through Luke Cundle’s 38th-minute strike.

Second-half goals from Barry Bannan and Bailey Cadamarteri saw Sheffield Wednesday move out of the relegation zone with a 2-2 draw at Wrexham, with Kieffer Moore’s brace having put the hosts comfortably in front at half time.

Carlton Morris’ rebound effort saw Derby snatch a point at home to Bristol City after Scott Twine put the Robins in front with a 35th-minute low strike.

Elsewhere, Ryan Hedges opened the scoring then provided an assist for Yuki Ohashi before Todd Cantwell sealed Blackburn’s 3-0 victory at Hull.

Abdul Fatawu curled in a 48th-minute winner as Leicester ended their 29-year away hoodoo at Charlton.

Zan Vipotnik’s 82nd-minute header saw Swansea snatch a comeback 1-1 draw at home to Watford after Nestory Irankunda’s free-kick put the Hornets ahead.
