Bromley have signed forward, Jemiah Umolu on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace.
Umolu’s arrival boosts Andy Woodman’s prolific forward options currently headlined by Michael Cheek, Marcus Dinanga and Nicke Kabamba.
This move marks Umolu’s first full season-long loan in the EFL after he spent the second half of last season at Port Vale, across which he made nine appearances and provided an assist during the Valiants’ 5-0 home win over Bromley in April.
Umolu also featured for Palace Under-21s in their 2-2 friendly draw at Bromley in pre-season, and will now wear the number 19 shirt for the Ravens.
Announcing Umolu’s arrival, Bromley said that they “are delighted” to welcome the youngster after they enjoyed previous loan success with Crystal Palace through Danny Imray last season, who has since joined Blackpool on loan this season.
In his first interview with the club, Umolu explained that he is excited to join a club that trusts his ability and can’t wait to integrate with the team, with hope that he can at least impress like Imray managed to last season if not outperform his fellow Palace Academy player.
“It’s an amazing feeling, a club that trusts me and my ability. So just ready to crack on. It’s a brilliant place. The players, coaches, all the staff really nice, very welcoming.”
“They had the likes of Danny Imray last season that came in last season and played many games, played very well and hopefully I can follow if not do better than what he’s done.”
Palace meanwhile wished Umolu well for his loan in a brief statement; “Everyone at Palace would like to wish Jemiah the best of luck during his loan spell.”
Umolu could make his debut for Bromley away at Notts County in League Two tomorrow (23 August) at 3pm BST.
