2025-26 Premier League: Week Two – Arsenal vs Leeds

Arsenal and Leeds both look to continue their winning start to the season as they meet at Emirates Stadium.

Following opening weekend wins, victory will definitely see either Arsenal or Leeds definitely stay in the top ten.

Team News

Kai Havertz is ruled out indefinitely for Arsenal after he suffered a knee injury in training.

Ben White (knock) faces a late fitness check but Gabriel Jesus (knee) and Christian Norgaard (knock) remain sidelined.

Leeds will be without captain, Ethan Ampadu after he suffered a knee injury in their 1-0 home win over Everton.

Jaka Bijol is back from suspension but Dominic Calvert-Lewin (fitness) is a doubt.

Sebastiiaan Bornauw (calf) is still ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Arsenal host Leeds on Saturday 23 August at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League in the UK.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Whilst their attack wasn’t exactly firing on all cylinders in a pretty lucky win at Manchester United via Ricardo Calafiori’s excellent header from Altay Bayindir’s error, Arsenal’s defence were certainly gutsy against a dominant Utd attack which is a huge positive for Mikel Arteta.

Leeds meanwhile absolutely dominated Everton in terms of attack but often lacked a sharp clinical edge in open play and were frankly lucky to even win via an undeserved penalty, as James Tarkowski certainly didn’t deliberately handball courtesy to VAR’s deluded view.

Daniel Farke’s Whites therefore will need to be more clinical here because this is likely to be the first clear test of their defensive ability with little possession than last time out, but I do expect Arsenal to be more polished in front of their home crowd.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Leeds

Result: Arsenal 5-0 Leeds
