2025-26 League Two: Week Three – Oldham vs Swindon

Oldham Athletic look to continue their unbeaten start in League Two against Swindon at Boundary Park.

Victory could lift Oldham into the top half of the table, whilst Swindon can go into the top four with a win ahead of the 3pm kick-offs.

Team News

Oldham have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-1 draw at home to Colchester last weekend.

Tom Donaghy remains absent with an unspecified injury.

Swindon could be without Gavin Kilkenny after he suffered a hip injury during their Carabao Cup exit against Cardiff on Tuesday evening.

Connor Ripley is also doubtful with a thigh injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Oldham host Swindon at Boundary Park on Saturday 16 August at 12:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports + in the UK.

Prediction

Having grinded out draws in their opening two league matches back in the fourth tier after they came from behind to hold Colchester, Oldham now need keep going in the right direction and ideally score first because they clearly are capable of finding a win soon if can just find that slice of luck.

Swindon meanwhile are tipped to challenge for promotion such is their attacking quality but their defending needs to be more resilient if want to truly be in the mix, having seen out a nervy 3-2 win over Cambridge after coming from behind in their last league game before their cup exit at Cardiff.

Oldham though have proven tough to break down with a vocal atmosphere amongst the Latics’ fans giving them a boost, so Swindon might well need to be patient but I can see the Robins getting the win if can just tighten up at the back.

Prediction: Oldham 1-2 Swindon

Result: Oldham 1-2 Swindon
