Midfielder, Ethan Nwaneri has committed his future to Arsenal with a new five-year contract until June 2030.
Nwaneri progressed quickly through Arsenal’s youth academy and made his senior debut as a substitute in a 3-0 away win against Brentford at the age of 15 years and 181 days, which saw him become the youngest-ever Premier League player in September 2022 in his only appearance of that season.
The now 18-year-old attacking midfielder and winger has since gone on to score nine goals in 39 appearances, having also made just one first-team appearance in 2023-24 before he became a first-team regular last season with 37 appearances in all competitions.
Arsenal consequently decided to tie him down to a new four-year contract until June 2029 with an option for a further year to waive off any interested rivals, with Nwaneri’s current contract having been set to expire next summer prior to his renewal.
Following confirmation of his renewal, Nwaneri was delighted to sort out his future ahead of the new season.
“Signing this contract means everything to me. I see this as my first real season in men’s senior football, as part of the squad in the changing room. I’m so excited for what I can bring to the team, I want to help us win as much as possible and bring happiness and glory to the club. This is where I feel at home.”
Nwaneri also was part of England Under-21s’ successful title defence at the UEFA U21s Euro this summer, in which he made six appearances throughout the tournament.
