Norway face Iceland in their concluding Group A match at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Norway are already through as Group A winners regardless of their result here, whilst Iceland have been eliminated from the tournament after they lost their first two group matches.
Team News
Norway have no fresh injury concerns to report after their win over Finland, with Lisa Naalsund, Celine Bizet and Elisabeth Terland looking for a start if Gemma Grainger rotates her squad for this meaningless game.
Iceland could welcome Hildur Antonsdottir back after she was suspended for their 2-0 loss to Switzerland.
Gudny Arnadottir however was substituted during the first half of that game and is unlikely to be available for selection.
When is Kick-Off?
Norway meet Iceland at Arena Thun, Thun, Switzerland, on Thursday 10 July at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time), live on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Norway are yet to lose to Iceland at UEFA Women’s Euro Finals (W1, D1), having won 1-0 at the 2009 edition then drawn 1-1 in the 2013 edition.
- Iceland are chasing a first victory over Norway at UEFA Women’s Euro Finals.
- Norway won each of their two group matches so far at this tournament by 2-1 results.
- Iceland are looking to avoid finishing an UEFA Women’s Euro tournament without a goal for the first time in their history.
Prediction
With qualification secured, this is a chance for Norway to relax and rest their best players but with Bizet and Terland amongst the likely rotated players to come in and capable of goals, I expect another strong performance from the group winners if they bring the right attitude.
Iceland meanwhile are already eliminated so this is now realistically a simple free hit for a team who just have lacked much attacking spark in their opening two games.
I however do think that Norway will have just too much despite their defensive fragility such is their attacking form.
Prediction: Norway 2-1 Iceland
Result: Norway 4-3 Iceland
