England have announced squad numbers for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Having displaced Mary Earps as the first-choice goalkeeper following Earps’ decision to retire, Hannah Hampton will sport the number one jersey at the tournament.
Khiara Keating and Anna Moorhouse – who are both yet to earn their first senior international caps – have been handed squad numbers 21 and 13 respectively.
Lucy Bronze, Niamh Charles, Keira Walsh and Alex Greenwood will fill squad numbers 2 to 5 like they did as England finished runner-up at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Millie Bright’s absence for personal reasons and due to a knee injury has meant that Leah Williamson will captain the team in the number 6 shirt.
Lauren James and Georgia Stanway will again wear no.7 and 8 shirts respectively, whilst Beth Mead will wear the number nine shirt like she does at Arsenal, with Rachel Daly having worn that number in 2023 but she since retired from international duty in April 2024.
Mead missed the World Cup due to an ACL injury suffered in November 2022.
Ella Toone and Lauren Hemp have kept their number 10 and 11 shirts but with Jordan Nobbs not in the squad, Maya Le Tissier has inherited shirt number 12 for her first major tournament.
Fellow tournament debutants, Grace Clinton, Michelle Agyemang, Aggie Beever-Jones and Jess Park will inherit shirt numbers; 14, 17, 19 and 20 respectively.
Esme Morgan, Jess Carter, Chloe Kelly and Alessia Russo have kept shirt numbers; 15, 16, 18 and 23, whilst Lotte Wubben-Moy has opted for shirt number 22 after Clinton selected her previous number – 14.
England commence their title defence on Saturday 5 July against France in Zurich, Switzerland, in a 8pm BST kick-off live on ITV1 in the UK,
A tricky crunch second Group D showdown against Netherlands awaits in Zurich on Wednesday 9 July, with the match broadcast live on BBC1 in the UK on Wednesday 9 July at 5pm.
Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses conclude their group campaign with a ‘Battle of Britain’ encounter against tournament debutants, Wales, on Sunday 13 July at 8pm on ITV1 for UK-based fans.
