Kenneth Paal will leave QPR upon expiry of his contract on 30 June 2025 after three seasons at the club.
Paal joined the Hoops from Pec Zwolle in June 2022 and has since gone on to score six goals in 130 appearances across all competitions.
The 27-year-old penned a farewell message for supporters explaining why QPR means so much to him on a personal level despite his decision to leave for pastures new.
“From day one, I enjoyed every moment.
“The people at the club as well as my team-mates helped me and my family, and I will always be thankful.
“There were tough moments but my time with QPR made me a better person and a better player.
“I became a father here and my little one was born in London, so this will always be a special place and time for me. It was a life-changing period.”
Paal proceeded to reflect on his favourite moments as he continued: “As a team, winning against Burnley and Stoke in my first season to stay up was incredible.
“And scoring against Huddersfield at home was special. It was a very important goal but I still don’t know how I did it!”
Supporters also weren’t lost on Paal who praised them for their “unbelievable” support throughout the highs and lows of the last three seasons.
“I always felt their support at Loftus Road and at the away games, too. Even in the tough games and moments, they were there.
“I want to thank them for cheering my name. I had my own song at QPR, I have never had that before so thank you very much for everything you gave to me.””
QPR CEO, Christian Nourry praised Paal for his calmness and ability but vowed that the club will continue to support him beyond the expiration of his contract.
“Ken’s a gentleman, someone who exudes calm and that has positively impacted other players throughout his time here.
“I’ve very much enjoyed watching him – technically, he’s delivered some marvellous moments in a QPR shirt.
“Whilst we are going our separate ways contractually, the Club will continue to support Ken in whatever way he wishes as he searches for his next adventure.”
