2024-25 League Two: Week 46 – Bradford vs Fleetwood

Promotion-chasing Bradford entertain Fleetwood on the final day of the 2024-25 League Two season.

Victory would see Bradford secure promotion to League One for the first time since their relegation from the third-tier in 2019, although a draw or loss would be enough if Walsall fail to beat Crewe Alexandra.

Fleetwood can finish as high as 11th depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Jack Shepherd is a doubt for Bradford after he missed their defeat at Doncaster due to a groin injury.

Aden Baldwin however is suspended after he was red carded in that game.

Andy Cook (ACL) and Lewis Richards (shoulder) remain absent.

Fleetwood have no fresh injury concerns to report but Ronan Coughlan remains sidelined with an Achilles injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Bradford host Fleetwood at Valley Parade on Saturday 3 May at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bradford have won just one of their last five meetings against Fleetwood (W1, L4).
  • Fleetwood have avoided defeat in three of their six previous regular-season trips to Bradford (W2, D1, L3).
  • Each of Bradford’s last two games against Fleetwood ended in 1-0 defeats for the Bantams.
  • Bradley Halliday has been booked in Bradford’s last two home games (W1, D1).
  • Fleetwood have conceded three goals in each of their last two away matches (L2).

Prediction

Coming into this game with promotion in their own hands, Bradford simply need to put their recent inconsistent form to the side and focus on producing a more clinical performance than they managed at Doncaster last weekend to get the job done at home which has been their fortress this season.

Fleetwood meanwhile might have little to play for other than a potential top-half finish but they can’t be underestimated purely because it’s the final day, as they have proven an issue for Bradford in their recent meetings and I expect nothing less if they’re to finish this campaign on a high.

Nevertheless I expect Bradford to have enough quality within them to wrap up promotion no matter what Fleetwood throw at them, particularly given that the visitors have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine away games.

Prediction: Bradford 2-1 Fleetwood

Result: Bradford 1-0 Fleetwood
